We're off to Wales. Like in May 2003 we crossed the Severn bridge and enjoyed the view. Unfortunately we didn't take pictures...
After some searching we found Caldicot Castle hidden in a park like area with a lot of trees.
By now we had seen enough locations to recognise the gate as Gwydion Castle entrance.
Inside the castle I was a bit disappointed. The whole castle is more like a playground for children.
As you can see on the next picture they do not care much about authenticity...
(I didn't take pictures of the mint green bath tub in one of the towers which is left over from the last occupant)
In the basement (where we found a plastic dinosaur) I had the impression that something was shot here as well.... isn't it the scene where Marion visits the captured Robin in Gwydion? I have to watch that episode again soon...
We left the castle and walked around it because we haven't found the wall Will climbed, yet.
First we came to the 'backdoor' again.
There was less green on it twenty years back, but I guess this is it:
